For as long as I can remember I have been exposed to and loved story, performance, and art. My mother was a theatre director and acting teacher in the small town of Hillsboro, TX. She put me on stage acting in her plays when I was around 3 years old, which I continued to do growing up. After high school graduation I received an acting scholarship my first two of years of college. I then graduated from the University of Texas-Arlington with a BFA in Art with an emphasis in Film.
I worked at Reel FX Entertainment
in Dallas, TX from 2003-2012. Over the years there I served in the roles of layout artist, layout supervisor, animator, animation supervisor, animation director, and director of studio animation. I was responsible for 120+ people which include the art, modeling, rigging, layout, and animation departments at Reel FX
. I had the opportunity to be a part of an early team that grew from 30 people to over 400+ people in a short amount of time. I also worked as a Mentor for the Animation Mentor
online animation school based out of Emeryville, CA.
In 2010, I was nominated for a Visual Effects Society (VES) Award
for "Outstanding Achievement in an Animated Short" for the work done on Warner Bros' Coyote Falls
. The short also garnered an Annie Nomination and short listed for the 2010 Oscars.
In 2012, I had the honor of supervising the Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem
theme park ride for Universal Studios. The project won both an Annie and VES Award.
I am now Co-Founder and CEO of Brazen Animation
in Dallas, TX. I am married to my wonderful wife, Toni, who is a dentist
. And we have two beautiful little girls.
